In this post I will be writing about the 10 Best Lawn Edging Shears, and where you can buy them.
I have included 2 pairs of Lawn Shears in the list as well.
The difference between Lawn Edging Shears and Lawn Shears is that the Edging Shears cut along the edges of the lawn and the Lawn Shears cut flat on the top of the lawn. This makes Lawn Shears great for getting into flat areas that the mower may miss due to obstacles in the way.(e.g. around trees or in corners where walls or decking stop the mower from reaching the edge of the lawn.
It’s good to have a decent pair of lawn edging shears as they always make the edges of lawns next to borders, patios etc. look very neat.
Some people use electric/petrol trimmers. These are handy to have and use for some jobs but you’ll never get as tidy looking an edge to your lawn as you will with hand-held lawn edging shears.
With so many lawn edging/lawn shears available I hope this post of the 10 best will help you choose and buy the right pair for your gardening needs.

These are the best edging shears you are going to get. They are the most expensive pair in this top 10 but that’s simply because they are the best quality and you won’t find any edging shears better anywhere.
I have a pair of C.K. Bypass Loppers listed in another review post. Click the link below to take a look.
They have drop forged steel blades which are hardened and have armour chrome plating. The blade tension is fully adjustable by using the dial mechanism on the blades. Because of this adjustable tension and the quality of the steel blades this makes these edging shears self sharpening.
The handles are strong lacquered wood, attached to the blades using steel rods (ferrules).
Although these are reasonably heavy, they’re not too heavy to be uncomfortable to use.
If you’re looking for a pair of edging shears that you can use all the time and will most likely last a lifetime, and you don’t mind spending a bit extra on, then you won’t get better and you won’t be disappointed with these.

These edging shears are the ones that I tend to use most of the time and they really are a super pair.
Spear and Jackson make brilliant Forks & Spades. I have a post with a few of their Forks & Spades listed. If you would like to read this then please click the link below.
The carbon steel blades are hardened and tempered for durability and they also have a PTFE coating to stop stuff sticking to the blades and help to prevent rusting.
They have lightweight aluminium handles with comfortable non-slip.
The handles are quite long on these, which I find good as the more upright you are when using edging shears then the better it is for your back. I’m 5’10” and find these very comfortable to use.

These are the same as the edging shears above, but they are lawn shears so cut flat.
The handles are also quite long which is a good thing I find, and are lightweight aluminium with non-slip comfort grips.

Bahco make good quality tools. I have a pair of their Secateurs in the number 3 position in my 10 best garden secateurs (Bypass) list. I also have and often use a few different sized Bahco adjustable wrenches, and in my opinion they can’t be bettered.
These edging shears are very good as you would expect from this brand. The blades are hardened steel and are coated with something called Black Xylan which helps to prevent rusting and reduces friction between the blades.
There is a self-locking nut so the blades can be adjusted if need be. Also, these edging shears have buffers to reduce jarring when using.
The handles are tubular steel.

The second pair of C.K. Edging shears in this list and the only pair of adjustable ones to feature. The adjustable feature is nothing to do with these being in the list as I don’t really think that edging shears need to be adjustable, unlike loppers which I think are very handy being adjustable.
The blades are drop forged and hardened and are armour chrome plated for strength and durability. The tension of the blade is adjustable by using the dial mechanism on the blades, which helps to make these self sharpening.
These are very lightweight to use and have 7 adjustable positions from 64cm to 105cm. The handles have very comfortable polymer grips.

Another great pair of edging shears from Spear & Jackson.
These have carbon steel blades which are polished and lacquered to help prevent rust.
The handles are tubular steel with comfortable hand grips so that makes these edging shears very lightweight to use.

Although these are called long handled edging shears they are just slightly shorter than the Spear & Jackson pair at number 2.
The blades are carbon steel with a non-stick coating and the handles are tubular steel with comfortable grips.
These are lightweight and easy to use.

The second pair of lawn shears on the list are these Wilkinson sword pair. Like the edging shears above, these have carbon steel non-stick blades and have tubular steel handles with comfortable grips.
They are lightweight and easy to use.

As with the Wilkinson Sword edging shears, these are called long handled but are still shorter than the Spear & Jackson ones at number 2.
These have carbon steel non-stick coated blades to help prevent rust and reduce friction.
The handles are carbon steel also, with comfortable non-slip rubber grips.

I hope this list of the 10 best Lawn Edging/Lawn Shears was helpful to you in choosing and buying the right pair of Garden Shears for your gardening needs.
If any new pairs come up that I try, and I find are worthy of inclusion then I will update or revise the list as necessary.
